Duck Race 2009

The 2009 Duck Race was held on Sunday 26th April. The First Prize was sponsored by Todmorden British Legion Club and the Prize for the Last Duck Home was sponsored by Lion Michael Clarkson. Greenwood's Skip Hire kindly organised the launch of the ducks from the bridge at Central Garage.

Unlike last year, it was a fine and pleasant day and only the ducks got wet! Todmordians came along in their hundreds to cheer on the ducks and deputy Town Mayor Cheryl Stovin came along with her partner, Jo, to help to send them on their way, assisted by 2008/9 Club President Colin Poole.

First Prize £150 - Duck No. 3255

Second Prize £75 - Duck No. 2277

Third Prize £50 - Duck No. 378

Last Duck Home £25 - Duck No. 892

All four prize winners were contacted after the race and First Prize winner, Sue Hill, received her cheque from President Colin at the Lions meeting on Monday 4th May at the Social Club.
